I'm so sad this year to go back to work. This summer has been the most incredible time of my life. I have soaked up and enjoyed every minute with my two little men. Although I do have to admitt, it was a little tiring at times. I would not change it for a second! I think the thing I will miss the most is our morning time. We wake up around 6 for a bottle, then just hang around in our pj's til around lunch time. We would play, read, watch some Nick Jr, and laugh. Then we would start our day. Sometimes we went to Hawaiian Falls, Target, playdates, visit Tank, just wherever the day would lead us. I am going to miss the carefree days of nothing to do but love, love, love on Luke and Monte.

Luke is ON THE GO!!! He is crawling and pulling up like crazy these days. He has gotten so fast! The other day he followed me in the bedroom, down the hall, in the kitchen, wherever I went. Sweet bubba, he wants to be right by mommy!

8 months

July 25th, 8 months that my heart has grown to love these handsome two boys. I'm amazed at how time is FLYING by. Please, someone, anyone, make it stop!!! The boys are now eating every 4 hours or so, eating 2 meals a day. They love to eat any and all foods!!! This was our magic month we started sleeping through the night!!!! Praise the Lord!! Their bedtime bottle is around 8:30 and they start their day around 6. They average 3 or 4 30/45 minute naps. Luke is pulling up and crawling all over. It's hard to keep up with him. Monte is sitting up independently and is in no hurry to crawl but loves to 'talk' and make sounds. This has been a fun month and I'm so blessed to have been able to be home with my handsome men.

The boys have really 'found' each other lately. It's so cute to watch them enterain each other. They just laugh and laugh at each other, the belly laughs at that. From the time they were home from the NICU, they want to touch each other. They slept in the same crib until 6 1/2 months, so everytime they are napping, they tend to find each other. So sweet....

We have LOVED playing with our best friends Wyatt and Weston. It's scary how much they are all alike. Luke & Wyatt and Monte & Weston. They even do the same milestones at the within a few days of each other. CRAZY. Anyway, this has been a God sent relationship for me and for my boys too. I have enjoyed talking to Julie, she has been through every step with me!

My oh my did we have fun on our Galveston trip. The boys loved the water. I didn't try the sand yet, but we opted for a pack/play under a canopy and let them play to the ocean sounds. It's crazy to me that my sweet niece Sydney was the boys age when she went the first time. She has grown oh so much. I love her so much. There were so many memories made and I'm already excited to go next year! Lord help us, they will be all over!!! Check out a few pictures....

My world as I know it

Well it has taken me 7 1/2 months to blog about my life. Crazy huh?

My world has been a true blur and whirlwind since that special day in November. I'm probably going to back blog over the next month or so to tell their story. For now I'm going to fill ya in on a typical day at my house and what's been going on this summer while mommy's off from work!

7 months:

The boys eat every 4 hours, they have a jar or 2 or veggies at lunch and either cereal, oatmeal or meat and fruit in the evening as well as bottles obviously. They are just now as of this week sleeping through the night!!! Whooooo hooooooo. You have NO idea how excited that makes me. We have come so far from those every 2-3 hour round the clock days! The sleep in their own cribs now, but as soon as they are up they are touching. Both love their bath time. They just kick and smile. These two look and act nothing alike, but they are truly connected. It's amazing to watch. Luke is sitting up and crawling all over! He finds me in the house wherever I am, such a momma's boy! Monte is sitting up and rolls all over to get where he wants, but is happy just laying too. He has 2 bottom teeth too. They take little cat naps throughout the day and love to play with their toys which always end up in their mouth. Drool is part of the outfit for both boys nowadays.

This summer has been a blast! They LOVE to go, but they LOVE to just play at home too. Luke and Monte are such good babies. Whatever we do, or whoever we are with, they are just happy almost all of the time. We have been to Hawaiian Falls every week, thanks to our great KiKi for helping!! We have been to my cousins wedding, which they were adorable in their sweet outfits. We go to Target every few days and the mall. We go to see our sweet friends Wyatt and Weston and play too. Our next adventure is to Galveston next week. I'm excited to spoil the boys and see how they like the ocean for the first time. As you can imagine, time is limited. I do promise to blog more now and keep up as best I can. Happy summer!!!!

First things first......yes, twin boys are on the way! It was quite a nice surprise and is God's little miracles. We were able to have these boys on our own!!! If you don't know our background, this is truly amazing. We are very happy to be expecting Monte Charles and Luke Bryant sometime in December. There have already been bumps along the way, but we are overcoming and God is in control.....always!!! I'm in love with these 2 boys already.

Tankster is good, growing and keeping me company this summer. We went to the beach in July and we took him. WOW is about all I can say. He LOVED the waves and ocean. I have never seen him so happy and tired! It was fun to be around all my family. Lots of games and giggles.

It's been a summer of great baseball....Rangers are rocking and rolling which makes me happy! I have been able to go to a few games and enjoyed it. But the most amazing game was when me and the twins were selected as Fans of the Game! We were on tv and received a goody bag. There were over 40K people there. It was pretty darn cool. I'm hoping for the World Series...not too much to ask right???

All in all, it's been a great summer and back to school to start a new, fresh year.

A brief look at 2009

I am always amazed at how FAST a year can go by. 2009 was no different....it came and went in the blink of an eye. Here's a quick re-cap....

January/February: wrapped up a fun-filled season of football and had yet another fabulous Super Bowl Party.

March: Spring break in Houston with sweet Syd and seeing Taylor Swift and the beginning of a spectacular season with the Texas Rangers!!!!

April: My baby boy was born, Tank made his appearance into the world!!! We also had a great time at the crawl for cancer, and Charley got his Jeep!!

May: An awesome Dave Matthews concert, a very memorable Mother's Day, getting 1st place in the Cystic Fibrosis 5K, celebrating another precious year of marriage and meeting JOSH!!!!

June: finished up another year of Kindergarten, started summer school, George Strait concert, we brought Tank home!!! (and no more sleep for me)

July: celebrating 4th at the Glass Cactus, a trip to Austin for Ginger's b-day, and got Tankster's ears cropped.

August: PRICE IS RIGHT!!!!, our trip to California, starting school, a special one year anniversary, and the beginning of a school year.

September: going to the first Cowboys game at the new stadium and another birthday down

October: my 2 boys growing and trying to get along, trucking through another year of school, and a very fun Halloween

November: Charley's birthday at III Forks, a great Thanksgiving at Cowboys stadium

December: had a surprize party for my mom and went to the Rockette's, another wonderful, fun-filled Christmas with lots of love and family

I feel so blessed to have had such an exciting year! So what is in store next????????

We had a great time shakin' our booties to some disco last night at the Glass Cactus. It was a great time, but very, very HOT!!!! I don't think we cooled down all night. The fireworks were beautiful over the lake. I'm so glad to have shared it with Charley. In 6 years at the fire dept, this was only his 2nd 4th of July off, so we took full advantage :) And I couldn't have done it without my dance partner Ginger! Good times...

We are all adjusting still to our new life with Tank. Charley believes he is allergic to Tank. At first, he was sure we would have to get rid of him. After a few tears and sweet puppy eyes, he is trying to adjust. We love our new addition to our family so much. He keeps us on our toes, literally! He can already 'sit' and 'come' on command, and working on the 'fetch' and 'stay'. (about 50%) Potty training is going well, some days are better than others, but overall good. I'm sure there will be many, many posts and pictures of him.

1st Hospital Visit

This whole puppy thing....whew! Yesterday Tank had his 1st trip to the vet/hospital. We noticed a little knot under his right shoulder on Saturday. By Monday it had doubled in size. I took him to visit Charley at the fire station and we decided it needed to be looked at. So after waiting for 3 HOURS, I saw the vet. He had a swollen lymph node due to a respiratory infection. He is on antibotics for a week. I mean it really is like having a newborn. BUT he is the cutest, sweetest little baby I've ever seen! I just love him :)

Oh and Max is starting to come around. Praise God! No more hissing or growling. He actually comes out to eat and sits on the couch.....that is when Tank is asleep. Hey, we're making progress!!

We have been waiting months for this eventful night. The opening to new Cowboy Stadium and the George Straight concert. It was even better than we imagined. As soon as you walked in, I just got chills....I was in awe of the stadium. Then we got the concert of a lifetime. Blake Shelton, Reba and the King of Country....George Straight. I enjoyed getting to spend time with David and Cynda, Bryan and Ginger. We had a BLAST!

TANK has arrived at the Scamperino house. After 6 weeks of waiting we finally got to bring him home. My oh my has our life changed and turned UPSIDE down! The first 24 hours have come and gone and we just love him. Max on the other hand...YIKES! He has not come out of the bedroom or closet, he growls and hisses. Although, today seemed better. He slept with us last night and actually came out for a few brief seconds. Tank slept in the crate. He's a sweet, silly boy. He loves to chew and play, then crash and nap. I hope he and Max can become best of buds one day, for now we just hope they can be in the same room. So, many stories are proably heading this way!

FINALLY, the day arrived...our anniversary celebration! We went to the Ranger game today for fan photo day. I have been looking forward to this day for a couple of months now. We went down on the field before the game and got to meet the players and take pictures. I was like a little kid, anixous, nervous and excited to meet my favorite players, especially Josh Hamilton! He came by and gave me a big hug. He just smiled and scooped me up, then we got a picture. We were able to get many other players pic's too, but that was the highlight of my day, probably my year! What a great testimony! What a great day!!! What a great husband!!!!

We started out our busy, busy day at Fairpark at the Cystic Fibrosis 5K. We have been volunteering for 4 years now. It was pouring rain, but we pressed on. I'm very proud to say that I was the 1st one across the finish line. Although, it's really a walk, and I was one of maybe 10 runners it still counts, right??

God never ceases to amaze me.....I have had a strong desire lately for Him to use me in some way. I've been praying for a door to open. The day came yesterday at the walk. While I was talking to Brooke, the CF coordinator, our conversation led into how the chair was leaving this year and she was in need for someone to take over. As we continued to chat, I knew it was just what I had been praying for. She introduced me to the current chair, and as we talked we both teared up. She said she had been praying for God to help her let go of it, I told her I had been praying for an open door. Her daughter has CF and is going to Kindergarten in August, so she wants to free up some time to help her. This is all so exciting! SOOOOOOOO, I am going to need all your help come May of next year.

Next was jeepfest where we found seat covers. We wanted them so Tank doesn't destroy the seats. Which BTW, we get him June 4th.

Then off to the blood drive. Unfortantly I was unable to donate due to the blood tranfusion last August. Charley was able to give! If you are ever able to donate, please do. After having to 'get' blood, it makes me motivated to 'give'.

Finally, an amazing concert at the Granada featuring....Monte! We had a big group of friends go this time, and we had a great time as always. I never get tired of hearing his music.

All in all, it was a perfect Saturday despite the rain.

What had started out to be a difficult weekend, ended up being the best EVER! This Mother's Day has been very emotional for me. After talking to my mom yesterday, she hopped in her car and headed to Dallas without me knowing. She surprised me with a text a few hours later...."look outside". There she was standing at my door with this.....

She knew I needed her more than ever. I got dressed and we went to the movie's. Which by the way, I highly recommend Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Then we stayed up late talking, slept in, went to a yummy lunch, and did a little shopping. A mother's love is like no other, they really do give the best hugs. Thank you momma for my sweet visit this weekend, but most of loving me so much!

Yep, I did it again, went waaaaaaaay to long to blog. PLUS, there have been lots of happenings in the Scamperino house. We have been to a few Ranger games which are always a blast! Charley got me tickets to 2 games for our upcoming anniversary and one of them was this past Friday night. No pic's since it was raining. Saturday night the Simmon's joined us for Dave Matthews. Yet, once again rain, and I mean RAIN! Not too fun when you are outside. We made the best of it though and danced and laughed the night away.

The big news is.....we got a jeep and a dog!!!! Jeep: dark green Wrangler and oohhh so fun to drive/ride. Charley had been wanting and looking for a while. But what he has REALLY been wanting is a dog. "Tank" was born April 23rd, a black and tan doberman. We will be getting him the weekend of June 13th. I am not really sure about this....I have never had a dog as a pet. Plus, I already have my baby Max. What is he going to do???

What a beautiful day! Charley and I went to the Ranger exhibition game this afternoon. I was very excited about going today since I have been reading Beyond Belief this week. It is Josh Hamilton's life story. He is such a true miracle of GOD. I love the way he honors HIM in all he does. If you get the chance, you should read it. Truly amazing the way God works.

I spend my last little bit of spring break visiting family in The Woodlands. Friday we went to the Rodeo and saw Taylor Swift!! What a great concert. She is so gorgeous. The rest of the weekend was spent visiting and relaxing. Now, back to reality....

Hair and Gala

Today started out at the salon with a new hair do. I just love to get pampered, although I can't quite seem to do it like them. Then the evening ended at Southfork Ranch to the Gala for Rockwall ISD. I haven't really been in the blogging 'mood' lately, so sorry! We have had so many fun things the past 2 weeks. First of all we hosted our annual Scamperino Super Bowl Party! It was a blast...yummy fajitas, margaritas and great friends.

A new adventure Charley and I had recently was the Studio Movie Grill. We went to see The Wrestler. It was an outstanding movie and a fun time. I highly recommend it and we will be going back soon!

A couple of weeks ago, I had to say goodbye to a very dear friend and co-worker, Janis. She took a position with Region 10 and retired from teaching Kindergarten. I'm going to miss her oh so much. I already do! We all met for dinner the other night and had a good time talking and catching up.

As far as the 3rd installment, I'm still putting my thoughts together, to be posted soon.

Tomorrow will be an exciting day. "Teaching" the day before Valentines, BUT then a very special treat, seeing the all-time greatest, numero uno, Scamperino fav, the one and only....Monte Mongtomery in concert!!! Can't wait!

Second installment.....

Where to start?? I'm a 30 year old wife, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, friend, neighbor and Max's mommy. So many roles in life we have to play and each are unique and special.

To begin I am a wife to the most amazing man in the world! Words cannot even describe how I feel about him. If you don't know Charley and I well, you should know that our marriage is a gift from God. He is first and foremost my best friend. We enjoy being together and doing many fun things. Some of the current things that top the list include hanging out on the couch with Max watching some t.v. (we all have our favorite spots), working on the house, guitar hero, all day Sunday football, and as always talking and laughing. I remember having a conversation with my mom very recently and I tried to explain the love I had for Charley. I told her I wish that every person could have that feeling at least once in their lifetime. It's indescribable. I Love You Charley....

My next role in life would be daughter. Another heavenly relationship. My mom and I have a special bond. Although she lives in Houston, we still talk almost everyday. We try not to go tooo long without a visit, unusually every 2 months or so. Our conversations are anywhere from school stuff, Sydney's new things, Y & R, what's going on in my old town, or just life itself. I call her often just to say hello. That voice on the other line can make a bad day turn into a smile.

I'm currently teaching Kindergarten in Rockwall. This is my 7th year of teaching. It has trying days and rewarding days. I can't imagine doing anything else. I love my team and all the staff at Hartman. It really is like a family. You laugh together and cry together. Every summer I am also privileged to teach with a special group of ladies in which I love dearly.

I am so blessed to have so many friends. Each play a special part in my life. Thank you all so much! I have one friend in particular that arrived over a year and a half ago. I have never met someone that shares the same sense of humor as me. She can make me laugh out loud just when I need it the most. She has been there for me through the worst times of my life and continues to take of me. There are so many memories.....Meow!

We live in Sachse, and love it, just want a bigger yard. We have the most adorable kitty. Max is my baby. He weighs in at 19 pounds and can snuggle like no other. He sleeps on me every night, and gets so happy each time I come home. But probably because I get to feed him, ha!

Well, as for what I am enjoying right now....I LOVE grilled chicken, vegetables, salad, reece's pieces, margaritas, and chips/salsa. I like to watch Biggest Loser, Grey's, Sex&City, football, and always PIR!! Jeans and tshirts are a must, but have fun getting all dolled up. My hair is "growing", straight, layered, and brown. I'm not going to mention my weight which is a higher number that I want, and I am not happy with my physical appearance. It's a work in progress. My favorite music is contemporary Christain rock, Monte Montgomery, and my all time 311!!

I think my most important role in life is Christain and child of God. I am currently praying and believing for many things, trying to grow closer to Him. My favorite scripture is Jer. 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you.

So, there's no time like the present....live your life to the fullest!

The Past

After laying in bed last night, praying, I did some major soul searching....what factors helped mold me to the person I am today, what are changes I can make?

This will be one of 3 posts...the past, the present and the future. I'm sure they will be long, detailed, yet they will be honest and open hearted. So here's to the past....

My life began with a mother desperatly wanting a baby girl. She prayed for me and loved me before she even saw me. When mother was 8 months pregnant, her best friend Gail was killed in a car accident, which is where I get my middle name. Jennifer came with the "J's" after 2 brothers Jim and Joe.

I grew up in a small town, Shelbyville, Texas were at the time I graduated, we had the largest graduating class...42...yep 42 graduates. I lived a very sheltered, niave life. I loved playing dolls, barbies and school. Hmmm, I wonder why I'm a teacher??? Mother played the piano for our church and we were at EVERY service Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night, revivals, prayer meetings, ect. I am thankful for my foundation in God.

I wasn't a typical child, I never rebelled. My goal in my little life was to "please" my family, my teachers, my friends, and especially my mom. We were the best of buds. We did everything together. We talked, and talked, and talked...

I had (have) 2 older, smelly, gross brothers. They loved bothering me, calling me nerd, chasing me, tickling me. Although they were very annoying at times, I still loved them and always enjoyed going to their games or when they came home from college. I was always so proud to say they were MY brothers!

High school was great, cheerleading, band, UIL, FCA, and ANY activity I could participate in, which is one of the major benefits of being from a small school. With high school came a very special person in my life, JJ. She met my brother when I was 13, so I practically grew up with her, my "sister".

This is the part of my life in which I don't like to talk about AT ALL. It was a nightmare in which I would like to put away forever. I was married at 19. Not even a year later, we were divorced for reasons I am unable to share.

Then in May of 1999, I was swept off my feet in an instant. I started working at Chili's in Mesquite and met the most ADORABLE bartender. He was so charming, he made me laugh, he made me cry, and I knew I found the love of my life. I can still close my eyes and see his smile standing behind that bar, and I can still feel the butterflies I felt the first time we kissed. We dated for over 5 years, and then were married in May of 2005.

We worked very hard, graduated from college, and started our careers together. We have been to countless concerts, watched hours of television/movies, went on many wonderful trips (Las Vegas, Disney World, Mexico). From the very beginning we were best friends!

A couple of years ago, we had a yearning to find God again in our lives. We searched and found the perfect church for us, Firewheel Bible Fellowship. Little did we know the transformation our lives would have and the impact it would have on our marriage. For the first time, we put God first where he will always be!

Over 2 years ago, Charley and I decided to start our family. Later did we find out that our dream would come to a sudden halt when I was diagnosed with infertlity. We have dealt with situations, NO ONE can even begin to imagine! It has brought a whole new level of love to our marriage.

So, as I break down my past, I find interesting things. I see that I am still a pleaser, I still have so much love in my heart for my husband, I still don't rebell, I still want to make everyone happy, I still have a wonderful family. All in all this has helped me become the Jennifer I am today.

I challenge each of you to evaluate your past, you will be amazed!

It's been pretty slow around the Scamperino house lately, back to work with the same ol' routines. Charley is working a lot these days and I am officially back in school. Although I have to admit, it was not too bad. It was nice to get some rest and come back refreshed. Our next goal....planning the annual Scamperino Super Bowl Party! It's always so much fun and seems to be growing each year! Hope you new year is bringing you peace and relaxation as mine has!

I had the most amazing, relaxing weekend. I went back to East Texas to visit with my family and go to church. It was just what I needed, laughing, crying, and reminiscing. Church was very moving Sunday. I felt the hand of God as I sat in my pew. I'm thankful for such prayer warriors that love and care so much for me and Charley. We stayed at my aunt's house and had the best time...talking, talking and talking. On my way home yesterday, I decided to stop at my 2nd aunts house in Carthage. It was such a sweet visit. We sat on her couch and enjoyed conversation too. Then after feeling a tad guilty, I had to call my 3rd aunt on the way home and we got to visit a long time too. This was defiantly a weekend I'll always remember! I love you all so very much!

I will have to say though, there's no place like home....a fat, snuggly cat and the very best husband in the world waiting for me to arrive!

What a week so far! It's been crazy busy at the Scamperino house. Let's back track...
Saturday and Sunday started out by finishing up the tile work in the bathroom and starting the hardwoods in the kitchen. David and Cynda came over to help. We got about half way done and had to stop because we had tickets to see Jimmy Fallon at the Improv. I laughed so hard, he is amazing.

Monday night...Charley and I worked until 4:30 in the morning finishing the floors! I was exhausted and delirious, but it got done. Luckily, school was canceled Tuesday for a 'snow' day. I got to get a little rest, but was off to do more work on the house.

Wednesday carpets were installed, SO beautiful :) They are so bouncy and thick. I love coming home to the new smell. Then off to dinner with some friends in Terrell.

Thursday, Charley worked ALL day putting things back in order. Thank you sweetie! Then dinner with the Brawners at Olive Garden.

Friday...last day of school for 2008! Holiday parties and crazy kids! Although I love my job, it is time for a break. Then I came home and finished up a few last minute cleaning chores.

All in all, I didn't think we would get it all done in time, but we did!

Today, my cousin is getting married, Charley and my bro's are going to the last Cowboy game at TX stadium tonight....many memories created. Oh it's my big brother's birthday..Happy Birthday Jim!!!

Tomorrow and next week, the whole family will be here to celebrate Christmas. I can't wait!

Today was my mom's birthday! God blessed me with THE best mother in the world. She is one of my best friends, and I love to share my life with her each day. If I ever need anything, she is immediately there for me. Some of my favorite memories with her are singing in the car to and from church, going very late to Nacogdoces to go shopping each Christmas, her braiding my hair each Friday before football games, and the chestnut tree song :)

All day I have been excited about Charley's bday present, the Duran Duran concert tonignt. Well, Charley got a phone call this afternoon from Nokia saying the concert had been canceled. Can you believe it??? The DAY of the concert, no show, no re-schedule, merely a ticket refund except for a 4.75 process fee per ticket. (ridiculous) So, off to get another present tonight. Charley got a PSP a couple games at Best Buy. I guess it will last longer than a couple of hours of music. Happy Birthday sweetie....again! hehe

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Yesterday, I joined the Patterson family for my very 1st turkey trot. I have always wanted to do the run, but for various reasons I never participated. So I as I began my run, I began to breathe in the cool, crisp air and felt pretty good. Shortly after a mile, I started "feeling" it. You know the can I make it, I'm feeling every inch of my body right now, the aches, pains, and panting for air......then I began to talk to God, as I usually do when I work out. Instantly he reminded me that just 3 short months ago I was in a hospital bed getting a blood transfusion and here I was running in a race. I immediately felt accomplished and worthy. For he is an incredible God that created such an amazing piece of work when he made our bodies. It blows my mind to see how we can go through so much, yet he can mend and heal our wounds. As I was telling Charley the story he instantly said back to me, I like to say we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Thank you Lord for creating such a miracle in us and continually showing me your love.

Unfortunately he is at the station today :( I did make him a funfetti cake last night so he could have it today :) Max and I woke him up by singing to him. Then at school my kiddos asked if we could tell him happy birthday so we did! I call and put him on speaker and they sang to him even adding all the cha cha cha's!! He loved it. For his b-day I got him tickets to Duran Duran next week, can't wait!

I heard this favorite song on my way home today. Yep, it offical....Christmas music is on!!! I'm SO happy, the music always brings a smile to my face and puts me in the best mood. I think I am the biggest Christmas fanatic you'll ever meet. Charley has already hung the lights outside and I have started going through and pulling out the decor.

Although I love, love, love all the fun things that Christmas brings, I will never forget the true reason for the season....our savior's birth. Thank you God for sending us your son to save us!

Sometimes in life you have profound moments and yesterday was one for me. Lately I have noticed that I've been more negative than positive. I notice always wanting the weekend to be here, complaining about my job and having to wake up early, complaining about not seeing results after 3 weeks of working out, complaining I'm always so tired, complaining of not having my husband home more, complaining of why good things happen to bad people....I'm thinking you get it. Lot's of negativity. All of that to say this, my attitude has officially changed. Positivity!!! Giving thanks for ALL the wonderful things God has blessed me with, taking time to appreciate each moment I am giving with the ones I love, enjoying the good times and not focusing on the harder ones, doing and giving to others and smiling even more!

SO I challenge you to just think about how you live your life, do you appreciate it, do you want others to look at you and see happiness or grumpiness, do you want your life to count? My grandmother used to say, don't wish your life away, and from this point on I'M NOT!

Southern Junction

Last night we meet some friends at Sounthern Junction for dinner. I had never had the pleasure of going, so I was excited. Boy was I in for a treat! If you know me well, I don't eat steak.....BUT it was 2-4-1 so I was brave and gave it a shot. The boys grilled while Aaron and I visited. My husband was an excellent chef, the steak was mucho delisiousa! I got my red meat in for the year. After dinner, we sat and laughed and laughed. It was a very good night for people watching. We saw many brushpoppers, mullets, huge cowboy hats, line dancing, a pregnant lady smoking and good 'ol country music by a band with the name Bootleg in it. I even squeezed a sweet two step with my man! We had a blast and I would love to go back. Sorry, no pic's and no bull riding this trip!

Strength

When I was younger we went to church everytime the doors were open. Don't get me wrong, I loved going, but at times I was 'bored' by the service. I think it was mostly lack of understanding and realivity to my life at the time.

Now, I can't get enough of it. I LOVE going to church and hearing Pastor Jeff's sermons. Each and every time I go, I find new meaning in my spirital life. As I sat there today, one phrase caught me and has stuck with me all day, "Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord." I know this is the lyric to a very popular Christain song which I have heard many, many times. Until today, it didn't have the effect it does now. As I think about my life, I realize that my strength has always been worth the wait!

We decided to partner up with the Patterson's this year. We had a blast sitting out in the yard all dressed up handing out candy. We had a fog machine, music, cobwebs, pumpkins, skeletons and LOTS of candy. I think we will always be known as the Snow White house now! WOW! Charley and I went to early vote tonight since he is on shift Tuesday. We did not expect such a long line. We had to wait for over 30 minutes. All in all, two votes are accounted for! I hope that you chose to do your citizenly duty and get out and VOTE! Hopefully you will have shorter lines.

Oh, and we had the best dinner. A new restaurant in Garland, Horacio's. It is run by former cooks from our old fav, Dos Banderas. We highly recommend it!!

Friday started out at the farm on a field trip, whew I was zapped by the end of the day. Then, off to Houston! I got there pretty late, and I had a sweet Sydney and the 2 kitties waiting for me to snuggle. I can't believe she's 10!!!

Saturday we woke up bright and early to her volleyball game. I was so impressed how well she played. We just relaxed and enjoyed a beautiful day. That afternoon me and one of my aunts and cousins went to the mall for a little shopping. There are so many sales going right now. Later that evening we had a HUGE cookout. My brother grilled and we had so much yummy food. I enjoyed a perfect family night with 1 mom, 2 brothers, 2 sister-in-laws, 1 niece, 2 aunts, 4 cousins, and 2 second cousins. We laughed til I cried and shared some sweet memories. I love you all so, so, so very much!!!

Although I enjoyed my weekend, I loved walking through the door and seeing my wonderful husband. We watched a little football and relaxed the rest of the evening. What a great weekend!

I got to spend an evening with my dear, sweet friends the Brawners. Our hubbies were on shift today, so off we went to Skye's soccer game and then dinner at Pancho and Lefty's. Here's some cute pic's from the game...

I survived! It's amazing how things stay the same, the world just keeps on moving whether you do or not. Now, I have officially joined it again. My first day back was Wednesday, but my substitute was with me all day. I pretty much observed them and learned the schedule and routine. Thursday and Friday was me "a-la-carte". Overall, it was as expected, 17 chatty, excited little Kindergartners and one tired, worn out teacher. I can't begin to tell you the support system I have at Hartman. Sooooo many of my friends gave me hugs and encouragement all week. it was good to be "home" again. This weekend involves rest, relaxing and football! Thank you all for your love, thoughts and prayers. So a new, fresh start has begun and so far so good!!!

A New Beginning

I got a call from the doctor Monday morning giving me a clean bill of health! Yes, that's right, all levels are normal and I am back to myself. You can't begin to understand what that means to us. It's been a roller coaster the past two months. So, for all the prayer warriors out there, it is time to praise our Lord and give Him thanks!

So, normally the first day of school is in August, but for me this year it's October. I go back on Wednesday. I'm very excited to meet my class and get back to the "normal" routine. Although, I will dearly miss my Price is Right, it's just not the same when you DVR it and watch at night.

Send lots of thoughts and prayers, I'll post again on Wednesday night to let you know how the day went.

I haven't really had much to blog about lately. Other that lots of football, it's been a pretty quiet Scamperino house. We have just been hanging out around the house, Charley's been working a lot at the station and ER, Max has been snoozing, I'm still working on healing, you know same 'ol things. Last night we had a great evening at the Bass Hall in Fort Worth. It was a concert with no other that THE Monte Montogomery. Good times. I'm back to work at some point next week, so I'll need lots of prayers. Blessings to all!

My Next 30 years

Thinking about my birthday and turning thirty, it has really made me realize how time goes so fast. I want to slow down in life and enjoy my next 30 years. Here are a few things I would like to accomplish.....(in no particular order)

1. Scuba dive at the Great Barrier Reef and Palau

2. Get a 'rockin' body with 6-pack abs

3. Have children and watch them grow up

4. Spoil my husband rotten

5. Be debt free

6. Spend more time with my family

7. Go on the Price is Right

8. Have others see God through me and my life and be an influence on them

I challenge you to take a moment and really think about what is important to you and what you would like to do with your life. It is truly amazing. Wish me luck and check back in another 30!

A VERY Happy Birthday

Yep, it's official...I joined the 30 club! When I was little I remember thinking that 30 was soo "old", now I just know it's sooo young! My birthday was filled with wonderful memories and wishes. So here's a run down....
My morning started by my sweet husband serenading and snuggling me right off the bat. It was a perfect way to wake up. Since the schools are closed due to the hurricane, mother, Sydney and Jayme all came for an all day birthday visit. It was so special to have visitors. We went to Red Robin for a yummy lunch. My 3 sweet visitors baked a beautiful strawberry cake for me. They all sang happy birthday, even Max was staring at me.

We all sat around chatting and visiting. Then we were off to dinner with our friends Sid and Crissy. We celebrated their son's birthday too.

Prayers Needed

I finally heard from my family in Houston. They are in need of prayers at the moment. My mom's house was damaged and they are trying to repair it until the storms are gone. They are all out of power for 2 weeks up to a month. Luckily they have a few generators and a gas stove they can use in the meantime. They are having to boil water for now. I can't even begin to imagine how terrible that would be. So, let's all send our prayers to Houston right now....thank you!!

Hairdo and Hamburgers

Well ,I started out at the salon today! Yep, got my hair cut and styled. It was such a nice treat. It's not a drastic cut, just trimmed and shaped. I'm still trying to grow it out from the disaster I had last summer, which is a story in itself. Then off to Walmart to pick up my vacay pic's. I had such a wonderful surprise, my husband! Yep, it was like a scene out of a movie....the doors opened I looked up and there he was smiling his adorable smile and headed right to me :) He was shopping for the station, such perfect timing. I'll always take a hug from a cute fireman.

I had some pictures printed for Julie as well, so we met for dinner at Red Robin with the kids. If you know me well, you know I don't eat hamburgers, but it made for a good blog title. We had a good time. I even brought my camera to snap a quick picture for the blog. So, we all got in a pose, had the waiter stop to snap, and guess what.....dead camera, no batteries! Oh well, not good timing!!!

I'm sitting in my car, stomach rumbling, shaky and tears filling my eyes. I was about to take the first step into my classroom. It was a big day....facing all my special, dear friends and meeting my class for the first time. I started with lunch with my team and then a few visits throughout the building. Next, I went to my classroom. I sat down in front of 14 sweet little faces (2 were absent), all eyes on me......they sat there waiting to see who I was and why I was there? I introduced myself and they all went ahhhhhhhhhhh. It was very cute. I then read the "Mrs. Scamperino" book, it has pictures of me, Charley, Max, ect. They were excited as I turned each page and they learned a little bit about me. So then I asked, what are you going to tell your mommies and daddies about Mrs. Scamperino tonight......that she has a celebrity cat and she likes to scuba dive and wants to see a shark. So, who knows what they are going to think! HA! I did have to brag a little about my boy being on tv, hehe. There were lots of hugs and hellos from former students too, which was nice. Today was a hard step to take, but I'm glad I did it. I will have to say, I'm in nooooooo hurry to go back. Ohhhh, I'm so sorry to all the teachers out there, what a job we have, training America's future!

Charley and I have been dealing with how to "talk" to God again. It's been very difficult because we have unanswered questions. It's not that we don't trust and have faith in Him, because we know in our hearts He has our best interest in Hand. Sometimes it's just tough. Lately, I am amazed at how God has been showing Himself to us. The best one arrived today, our beautiful roses. Since Ally and Brayden have passed, our roses have taken off with the most beautiful flowers. We think it is just God sending down His love. So, here are some pictures to show you our little gift from above....

A fun weekend

This weekend was just what the doctor ordered. It started with a fun-filled dinner at Gloria's with some friends Friday night. After a few cocktails, several of us ended up at home with a game of Balderdash. If you have never played, it's a blast. It was just what we needed, laughter and friendship.

A little while later, with a knock at the door, Nannah arrived. She came to visit for the long weekend. Saturday was started out with no plans, and nothing to do. We went to the mall, got pedicures, went to eat, and watched a movie. We got to do lots of talking and reminiscing. Mothers are very special people, and now I have a whole new outlook on motherhood. I didn't know that you could love someone so much, even if it's for a brief moment. So, here's a note to my mom....I love you and thank you for a wonderful, memorable visit!

Sunday was a lazy day too, which seems to be my kinda day lately. Mom got to stay until late since she didn't have to work Monday. We tried a new restaurant. It was awesome, Ghengis Grill in Plano. Yum, yum!! We will defiantly go back.

Monday was a perfect day. Charley and I slept in, worked out, had a late lunch, went to the grocery store, watched a movie, and made dinner together. These are the kind of days in which memories are made. I love you Charley!!! Thanks for a wonderful day.

After hours of frustration, I have updated our blog. It is no where near perfect, but will have to do for now! If I didn't have so much time on my hands, it would have never gotten done. Somehow along the way, I lost all posts and pic's, so sorry! I think that we needed a fresh, new start anyway! So here's to a world of new, wonderful memories...
